Robotic curriculum

.A sketch of computational thinking curriculum

Computational thinking allows us to take a complex problem, understand what the problem is and develop possible solutions. We can then present these solutions in a way that a computer, a human, or both, can understand.

The four points of computational thinking

  • decomposition

  • pattern recognition

  • abstraction

  • algorithms

.A sketch of a robotics curriculum

A robot is a tool for learning through hands-on activities. Robotics, or what is at the basis of the functioning of an android: mechanics, electronics, coding. But together with this, robotics at school can also be an opportunity to learn “other”, through robots. But the robot, its construction and programming is an excellent transversal learning tool, from geography, to anatomy to geometry and mathematics. Robotics is used to learn how to solve problems (computational thinking), the development of cognitive and social faculties, the ability to plan. Robotics at school is a commitment for groups of 3-4 students working together, supported by the teacher with various levels of commitment that gradually increase. Here are some examples:

.Are you a digital teacher?

7 FEATURES A COMPETENT DIGITAL TEACHER: Test yourself...
‎You can integrate digital skills into everyday life. If you can buy online. you can teach online. Digital skills are transferable.

‎You have a balanced attitude. Educational technologies are not everything you know. You are a teacher, not a technician.

You are willing to try and use new tools.
If they are valid for you they will also be for your student the only thing that matters is that they work.

You are a digital communicator
‎You use easily email and Social Media.
You ‎Known difference between Tweet and Direct Message

You know how to evaluate the information on the web. You are like a judge of the quality of news, apps and tools.

Understand the Privacy.
‎rats personal data with respect they deserve.

You are in possession of Digital citizenship.
You know how to behave on the web in a legal and socially responsible manner. And you will teach it to your students!

.The project

Coding curriculum
The project

Computational thinking, coding and robotics for kindergarten and primary

Aims

The project aims to build a curriculum of digital skills that, starting from the first computer literacy, accompanies the pupil until the acquisition of advanced skills, such as coding skills and the first rudiments of cybernetics.
Computer skills must be acquired using the English language as much as possible (CLIL)

Objectves and Activities

Digital competence
Build good basic digital skills, make communication technologies aware of how to search and analyze data and information
Build a wealth of knowledge and basic digital knowledge that will enable students to acquire new information and engage in learning independently
Provide the skills needed to produce texts, drawings and digital presentations
Communication in foreign languages
Use, albeit in an elementary way, the English language in the field of technology (CLIL)

Mathematical competence and basic skills in science and technology
The project aims to promote the introduction of computational thinking from primary school to school through the use of open source software for teaching.
Introduce primary school children to English and use coding by structuring a system that goes on to completing primary school.

Operational Objectives

Brainstorming activities on various concepts such as:
Computational Thinking

What is a computer?
What is internet?

How do I use computer and multimedia?

Speak with the machine: "Coding"

Contents & Activities

Presentation of the basic concepts of ICT starting from the experience of children

Presentation and use of various software such as: Blockly, Scratch, Powerpoint, Tuxpaint

Realization of drawings, texts, animations and power point presentations

Verification and final product

Testing in the field through interactive learning-proof cooperative trials of multimedia didactics
Documentation
Recording the work done and uploading to the site
